Everything about the Costarican caribbean is unique.  From the spicy food, exotic reserves, good vibes and reggae music the Limon Province has a strong Afro-Caribbean cultural influence.

 

Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, Cahuita and Manzanillo (South Caribbean)  are some of the beautiful white sand beaches that we recomend if you are visiting this area. You can see where the jungle meets the beach in the Gandoca - Manzanillo Wildlife and Marine Refuge, scuba dive in Punta Uva, surf in Salsa Brava or visit Cahuita's national park wich features 222 square meters (55,000 acres) of protected waters and 2.5 km (600 acres) of living coral reef, one of two in the entire country.

 

The Tortuguero National Park (Northern Caribbean) is conformed by an extensive systen of canals used for the exploration of this amazing wildlife habitat (mainly mangrove forest)  which coastlines are the most important nesting sites of the green sea turtle. Tortuguero National Parks is also a  wildlife sanctuary for monkeys, jaguars, green macaws, tapirs,  mammals including the rare manati, birds and reptiles.
